Android 16 stable will be available in the coming months. Also, Google has laid out a quick release schedule for the upcoming software, with Beta 1 arriving this month, while the second and third are expected in February and March, respectively. Now, a report suggests the potential release dates for Android 16 beta builds.
According to Android Authority contributor Assemble Debug, a comment has been spotted on Android Gerrit in which a Googler has revealed that Android 16 beta 3 will be released on March 12. The exact release dates for beta 1 and beta 2 are still unknown, however.
In this report note, Google has also mentioned two other important dates in the comments: January 22 and February 19, these could be the possible release dates for Android 16 beta builds 1 and 2. Although not explicitly confirmed.
With the Beta 3 update in March, Android 16 will reach its first platform stability milestone. Following this, the tech giant may release additional beta builds for final testing in April and May before rolling out stable updates for AOSP and Pixel devices in the second quarter of 2025.
In February 2025, Google will open the Android 15 for on handset, tablet, and foldable form factors from partners including Honor, iQOO, Lenovo, Nothing, OnePlus, OPPO, Realme, Sharp, Tecno, vivo, and Xiaomi, so there are so many more devices for you to test your app on, and so many more users that can run your app on the Android 15 beta.
Samsung, as always, is skipping the Android Beta Program, while the One UI 8 Beta is likely to begin this year earlier than the One UI 7 as Samsung is already testing it on One UI 8 internally. The next major Android version upgrade will likely bring many significant changes and new features.
