Nothing has completely done the phase of rolling out the Android 15-based Nothing OS 3.0 update in the stable phase. And now the tech company is moving on to the next update phase, which is the January 2025 security patch. The Nothing January 2025 update started rolling out to the Nothing Phone 2 and Nothing Phone 2a.

The update brings general improvements and bug fixes in this security patch. Additionally, the Nothing Phone 2 and 2a are the first devices to receive this update. The update is rolling out, and it will be gradually rolled out across the world soon.
The Nothing Phone (2a) is spotted with the V3.0-250114-1909 firmware number in 263MB size, and V3.0-250114-2001 is identified for the Nothing Phone (2) device in 179MB size. Both devices get the January 2025 patch. According to the Nothing Community post, this update improves the system performance from the previous installed update, which is considered unstable for some scenario.
This update brings general improvement, users can now activate the Glyph torch by pressing long press the torch tile in quick setting. It optimizes network system to select auto network with more quickly and improve connection stability and in Landscape mode, the Quick Motor will make grabs faster and easier than before.
Apart from this, the update fixes many bugs, unwanted threads, and many vulnerabilities, including known and unknown issues. Also, it fixed the earbuds connection problems, and it performs better. It resolves system stability for a more reliable experience. Overall, this update enhances the security of the devices.
Users can install the update by Go to the setting > System > System Updates , Click On Download > Download and Install. Ensure you are connected to a stable Wi-Fi Network, charging your phone at least 50%.
