Samsung One UI 7 enhances security and privacy in the age of AI, giving users more transparency and choice. In this line, Google announced that Android 15 Identity Check security feature is now available on Pixel devices. Plus this security and privacy feature is also coming to “One UI 7 eligible Galaxy devices” in the coming weeks.
Android Identity Check feature
Android 15 Identity Check feature provides better protection for your important account and device settings. When you turn on Identity Check, your smartphone and tablets will require explicit biometric authentication to access certain sensitive resources when you’re outside trusted locations.
Additionally, the feature enhances security for Google accounts on all supported devices and provides additional security for Samsung accounts on One UI 7 eligible Galaxy devices, making it much more difficult for an unauthorized attacker to take over accounts signed in on the gadget.
Other than this, Samsung Also introduced a lot of security features including an advanced Knox Matrix, a Data recovery method for Enhanced Data Protection, Passkeys support for Samsung Accounts, a Maximum Restrictions option in Auto Blocker, and improved Theft Protection to deliver even more robust protection to more users around the world.
With ongoing enhancements to Identity Check and Android’s existing Theft Identity Lock, Android provides a robust and comprehensive set of tools to protect your device and your data from theft.
Additionally, you can specify one or more trusted locations as part of enabling identity checks. When you are outside these trusted locations, biometric authentication will be required to access important account and device settings, such as changing your device’s PIN or biometrics, disabling theft protection, or accessing a passkey.
According to the blog post, the Android Identity Check feature is now rolling out to Pixel devices running Android 15 and will also be available on One UI 7 eligible Galaxy devices in the coming weeks.
Apart from this, the company has also confirmed that it will also be made available on supported Android devices from other manufacturers later this year.
