Moto G Play (2023) and Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) receiving January 2025 update

Motorola started pushing a brand new firmware update to the Moto G Play (2023) and Moto G Stylus 5G (2022). As of writing, the January update for both devices is rolling out in the US; more specifically, it is available on the Verizon network. The update could be available in other regions as well.

Moto G Play (2023) and Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) January 2025 update

It comes with firmware version numbers T3SGS33.165-46-3-1-16 and T2SDS33.75-38-4-4-8 for Moto G Play (2023) and Moto G Stylus 5G (2022), respectively. As per the changelog, it does not include any new functionality; however, it comes with January 2025 Android security patches, which bring more than 30 fixes for the devices. Also, the update improves both devices system stability.

To check the latest software on Motorola devices, go to Settings, tap on System, and then System updates.

Both devices were announced in 2022 with Android 12 out of the box. The Moto G Play (2023) comes with a Helio G37 4G chipset; on the other hand, the Moto G Stylus 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 695 5G chipset.

The Moto G Play (2023) features a triple rear camera setup, including a 16MP main sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. It also comes with a 5MP front camera. The Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) also includes a triple camera setup on the back side, including a 50MP main, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front side it has a 16MP selfie camera.
