Xiaomi may resume HyperOS update rollout from mid-February

As you know Xiaomi has temporarily suspended its software update rollout during the Chinese New Year holidays starting from January 28, 2025. Meanwhile, a report states that Xiaomi will resume the HyperOS update rollout by mid-February. 

Recently new information has shed light on how the company will proceed with firmware distribution for its devices after the Chinese New Year 2025 celebrations. As a result, many people are patiently waiting for updates, including:

  • January 2025 security update
  • HyperOS 2.1 globally
  • HyperOS 2 update for supported devices

According to the report, the Chinese tech giant has discontinued the HyperOS update rollout after the new year 2025. While the company took this step to give a break to its employees, Xiaomi phone users were quite disappointed as they were eagerly waiting for the major upgrade.

As per the information, the first batch of Xiaomi HyperOS 2.1 update was supposed to be released globally in mid-February, however, the company has pushed the timeline due to the Chinese Spring Festival holidays.

As per a report by XiaomiTime, the company will resume its industry operations on February 12 or 15. Also, in mid-February 2025, the rollout of updates including security updates and delayed updates will resume. Last but not least, the rollout of HyperOS 2.1 will accelerate worldwide from late February to early March 2025.

In short, Xiaomi will be back on the normal update track after February 16. Early inputs also suggest that HyperOS 2.1 will be available in the global market at the end of next month. The first batch of devices includes the top-end models of the Xiaomi word.
