Google has officially announced that its annual developer conference, Google I/O 2025, will be held on Tuesday, May 20 to Wednesday, May 21. Google confirmed the date after enough community members completed its “e “Prism Shift” puzzle.

The search tech giant will kick off day one with keynote addresses on May 20, 2025, followed by sessions, demos, networking opportunities, and other events continuing on day two.

At the Google I/O 2025, Google will unveil new hardware and software features for existing Google products. This year’s I/O should be no different, kicking off with a keynote address by CEO Sundar Pichai at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View and online at io.google. The event should then transition to developer-aimed talks and technical sessions available online.

As in previous years, Google I/O 2025 will be live-streamed for free, allowing anyone to attend virtually. Also, there will be a limited number of live spectators at the venue.

Google I/O 2025: What to Expect:

Tech enthusiasts can expect announcements following Google’s tradition of showcasing new devices at I/O. Past unveilings have included Pixel phones, Chromebooks, and Nest devices. This year, rumors point to announcements related to Gemini and other AI innovations and Android 16, but we wouldn’t discount potential teasers for future product announcements.

This event focuses on tools like the Gemma open model, Google AI Studio, and NotebookLM, as highlighted on the I/O homepage under the “Start building today” section.

On the other hand, the Pixel 9a is expected to be announced in March and hence, we wonder what hardware announcements might take place at I/O. We will let you know as soon as we get more information. Stay connected!
