The Now Bar is one of the most impressive features in One UI 7.0. It shows information about ongoing activities not only on your phone’s lock screen but also on the AOD. It lets you keep an eye on ongoing activities without unlocking your device and Now Bar now working with Google Maps to display route-related information.
Google Maps Live Activities will work with One UI 7’s Now Bar
Ahead of the Galaxy S25 reaching buyers on February 7, Google has released a new update to the Google Maps app so that it works with the Now Bar feature on Galaxy devices running One UI 7.
One UI 7 is currently available on the Galaxy S25 series, which introduced Google Maps Live Activities on the Now bar. Additionally, the One UI 7 beta is only available on the Galaxy S24 series and it looks like Maps Live Activities is now available in a similar way to iPhone Live Activities.

The live update was introduced for Android 16 last week. Now this indicates that Google has started rolling out Google Maps Live update for Galaxy phones running Android 15 as well.
Android 16 supports Live Updates, a new kind of notification system that can display the progress of ongoing activities, similar to the Now bar.
Live Activity for Google Maps can display a progress bar for your current public transport navigation and a single tap will open a pill-shaped card, which will give you more detailed information about your next turn. Also, you can end navigation from the Now bar after completing your journey.
With the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra, the Korean tech giant has also expanded the One UI 7 Now bar functionality by presenting Now Brief. It can get a personalized briefing of specific content that gets updated in the Brief card throughout the day.
