OnePlus Open bags new features with January 2025 OTA update

A brand new software update for the OnePlus Open is rolling out in India. The update comes with new AI features, improvements, and January 2025 Android security patches. Latest patches improve the overall security of the device. These security patches address more than 30 vulnerabilities in OnePlus devices.

The January 2025 update changelog shows that the device is getting the OTA update with build version CPH2551_15.0.0.410(EX01). To check the latest software update, OnePlus users can navigate to Settings » About device » OxygenOS version tab » Update and install.

These monthly updates are distributed in batches, so it may take a few days to be available on every unit. The update is also enhancing the system stability of the device. For better understanding, check the changelog below.

  • Adds Fresh, Emerald, and Clear film filters to Photo mode and Portrait mode.

  • Now you can see the status of the flashlight on Live Alerts.
  • Now you can see the charging information on Live Alerts.
  • Now you can drag a floating window to change it to full screen.
  • Fixes a display issue with existing icons on the status bar when a Live Alerts capsule is displayed.
  • Improves system stability for some scenarios.
  • Extends battery life in some scenarios.
  • Integrates the January 2025 Android security patch to enhance system security.
  • Fixes a screen flicker issue in some scenarios.

Moreover, the OnePlus Open was launched with Android 13-based OxygenOS 13. Last year the device received its first major upgrade in the form of OxygenOS 14, and recently it also received the much-awaited Android 15-based OxygenOS 15 upgrade.

The OnePlus Open features a 7.82-inch Foldable LTPO3 Flexi-fluid AMOLED display and supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC is powering the device. On the back side, it has a triple rear camera setup, including a 48 MP main sensor, a 64 MP telephoto sensor, and a 48 MP ultra wide sensor. On the front side, it houses a 20 MP selfie camera.
