Two weeks ago, the OnePlus 12R received an incremental update following stable OxygenOS 15. Now the company is rolling out another OTA update this month for the device. The latest firmware for the OnePlus 12R brings two new features and some fixes with the January 2025 Android security patches.
OnePlus 12R January 2025 update details
The update adds a new Touch to Share feature; it allows users to share photos and files with a touch. This feature supports file sharing with iOS devices. The second feature is BeaconLink, which is an app that allows users to make calls to nearby people even if they don’t have an internet connection or mobile signal.
The update is pushed with firmware version CPH2585_15.0.0.500(EX01) for the OnePlus 12R. It is currently rolling out in India, and in other regions it should be available in the coming days.
Apart from these new features, it also includes system stability and bug fixes. In addition, the January 2025 Android security patches address many vulnerabilities and make the device more secure. These OTA updates are delivered in batches, so they will not be available on every unit simultaneously.
Moreover, the company advises that you should install these security updates as they fix devices security loopholes.
