Not much time has passed since the Redmi A4 5G was launched, and details of the A5 5G have also started coming out. Xiaomi launched the Redmi A4 5G in October 2024, and now it is gearing up to introduce its next budget smartphone, the Redmi A5 5G. The company might also launch a rebranded version of the Redmi A5 as the POCO C71 5G.
Redmi A5 gets FCC certification
According to a new report from TheTechOutlook, the Xiaomi Redmi A5 5G has passed the FCC certification process. As per the certification information, it also has 5G capabilities like its predecessor, the Redmi A4. The listing also reveals its storage configuration, which includes 3GB/64GB, 4GB/64GB, 4GB/128GB, and 6GB/128GB.
The Redmi A5 will be launched with Android 15-based HyperOS 2 out of the box. The certification shows different model numbers for different regions for both the Redmi A5 5G and POCO C71 5G, which you can see below.

Other specifications are still under the hood, as the company has not officially revealed anything about these smartphones. It is expected that both devices could arrive by next month, February 2025. However, we cannot expect much from both devices as they are just entry-level 5G smartphones. They might come with slightly better specifications than their predecessors.
