Another addition to Samsung’s AI power is said to be already present in the latest patents of the brand. The report by 91Mobiles has it that Samsung has filed a patent that is meant to seek approval for a background that will dynamically display a time and a day with either. In addition, the company also has patents on smart glass and a gaming handheld it has taken to court.
It is also said in the patent document that the system may also recognize the weather conditions and adjust the background into sunshine, fog, cloud, rain, or snow, and so on. When there’s a likelihood of rain, the AI wallpaper will also display one such as ‘take an umbrella’ so that one does not encounter hardships outdoors should the rain begin.
Lastly, the AI part of Samsung’s application, Generative AI, would scan the image/wallpaper background to recognize the area, the time, and the weather. It can then generate images that describe other throwaway images on top of the selected background after altering the time and weather.
This is quite a pretty unique idea that might offer a logical layer to wallpapers. However, it is still classified in the patent stage, so it is still uncertain whether the company has placed such a feature under development.
Samsung to bring AI-powered weather feature to Galaxy phones?
The patent outlines a technology that would enable a device’s background to change, or ‘wallpaper,’ in real time due to the input of Aigen AI. The system is capable of delivering the list of time values that can be used to set the appropriate wallpapers for the corresponding period that are predefined as dawn, morning, afternoon, evening, and night.
Samsung will instead use generative AI, which will take time or weather changes. Read the image/background, determine where the changes can be made, and then generate the image with the changes made to the wallpaper to apply on the device. Weather-based change may comprise alterations for sunny, foggy, cloudy, rainy, or snowy days. The changes in the wallpaper also include variations of the seasons that are available.
