These devices can join the T-Mobile Starlink beta

T-Mobile and Starlink have launched a beta program to offer satellite-based messaging when there’s no cellular reception nearby. The T-Mobile Starlink beta service, announced during the Super Bowl, is free until July and users of carriers like Verizon, AT&T, and of course, T-Mobile can sign up for the beta if they have a compatible devices.

According to the blog page, most smartphones from the last four years are compatible, but T-Mobile has also shared a list. Compatible devices for T-Mobile Starlink beta include iPhone 14 and newer, Galaxy S21 and newer, Galaxy Z Fold 3 and newer, several Motorola phones, Pixel 9 series, and more.

T-Mobile has shared the list of devices compatible with its Starlink beta program.

Most phones from the last four years are compatible, but T-Mobile has shared a list as well.

  • Apple iPhone 14 and later:
    • iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max

After you join the beta, you can send and receive satellite-powered text messages through your phone’s native messaging app, so you’re not limited to just emergency SOS messages to 911 and sharing your location.

In the future, this service will also include picture messaging, data services, and voice calling. Moreover, the beta program is now open to anyone on any carrier on a first-come, first-served basis.

How much will the T-Mobile Starlink satellite messaging cost?

Customers on T-Mobile’s Go5G Next plan will continue to have free access to the benefit, while customers on other plans will be able to add it for $15 per month. Further, Verizon and AT&T customers will be able to use it for $20 per month.
