WhatsApp has already prepared “star-mark” feature for the Android app version and is now working on a this feature for Channel updates in the iOS app version. This new feature of the application will allow users to mark all those updates in the channel that are quite important and require saving separately.
According to the information, with WhatsApp iOS beta version 25.2.10.71, the firm is rolling out a new “star-mark” feature for channel updates.
This feature is great if you want to save a specific update and avoid missing it in the flow of other updates. This means that it is now bringing the same capability to iPhone users as well, giving them a lot of convenience.
It is worth mentioning that the star-mark feature is already available for individual and group chats. Now WhatsApp is expanding this star-mark feature to channels on iOS. Using this tool, you can mark specific updates and view them at any time without scrolling through the entire channel, similar to Telegram’s pinned messages.
First, tap and hold on any update in the channel. A pop-up window will appear with some options. Click on the star option from Forward, Copy, Copy Link, Report, etc. To access the star updates, go to the channel information page and click on the “Starred” option. You can see the image below:
As a result, users can also manage, view, and unstar these updates at any time under the channel information page. Note that if you unfollow a channel with starred updates, all marked posts or messages will be deleted and you will not be able to access them again.
As always, WhatsApp is rolling out the Star-mark feature to a limited number of iOS beta testers via the TestFlight beta program. However, the feature will soon reach more users via a stable update in the coming weeks or months.
