Amid the HyperOS 2.1 global rollout for Xiaomi devices, recently, Xiaomi internally tried out the HyperOS 2.2 update testing for some popular devices including the Xiaomi 15, Pad 7 Pro, and Redmi K70 Ultra. Fortunately, the Chinese tech giant has decided to pull this testing for more handsets in the forthcoming days.
Xiaomi began testing HyperOS 2.2 on top-end models.
According to the report, Xiaomi has started testing the HyperOS 2.2 version for its flagship models. It seems like just like Google, Xiaomi is also rolling out feature drop updates in the form of x.1 and x.2 builds for its smartphones.
A new build has been spotted for Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro, and Redmi K70 Ultra, indicating that testing of HyperOS 2.2 has begun. The build can be identified by the following version numbers.
- Xiaomi 15: OS2.0.200.3.VOCCNXM
- REDMI K70 Ultra: OS2.0.200.3.VNNCNXM
- Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro: OS2.0.200.5.VOYCNXM
These versions are based on Android 15 and these devices will get the Android 16 beta in the coming weeks. Similar to the flagship x.0 firmware, the upcoming HyperOS version will likely include some new features and improvements.
The Chinese tech giant has already introduced a lot of AI stuff with the HyperOS 2.1 build. Hence, we expect Xiaomi to bring the tiniest changes to the device with HyperOS 2.2 in terms of user interface, privacy and security, battery optimization, as well as performance improvements.
It is notable that the HyperOS 2.1 version included some additional animations and visuals, however, future features in the HyperOS 2.2 version are anonymous.
Based on Android 15, HyperOS 2.1 is currently available for Xiaomi 14 Ultra in the global markets and the company will gradually release this update for more devices in the coming weeks.
